I have sketchbook which I keep beside my computer. It is the starting point for many projects, and where I test different mediums and write down ideas. I often like the pages in my sketchbook more than any finish products, so I wanted my sneakers to look something like that - a work in progress. I have been playing around with spray paint a lot lately too - I layered as a texture as part of the collages in the last exhibition I had - so included that on the laces. I'm also currently a bit obsessed with metallics and beading , so the gold beads were a much needed addition. I love the way they worked - they look like tiny floating polka dots!
